“Mistakes into Masterpieces”, is a phrase commonly used in our classroom. A phrase to symbolize even though things may not go as we’ve planned, it doesn’t mean it is a failure. It means we have a chance to make something new. We can see things from a different angle and utilize our resources to create something even better. This saying is not limited to 3D printing but can be applied in many places in someone’s life. Today’s post is dedicated to one of our students, Ben, who is an intelligent gentleman with a craving to learn. Like many others, Ben came to us with little knowledge of printing. Very quickly, we learned that been was capable of things much greater than our beginner classes. Ben’s abilities stem much further than 3D printing. He has tremendous math and problem solving skills and a passion for using tools. One thing Ben has struggled with is the ability to accept that things may not always go as planned. This is where our phrase “Mistakes into Masterpieces” once again, comes into play. In understanding the meaning behind these words, Ben has learned to change his perspective to adapt and overcome these situations.
We’ve received a thank you letter from Ben’s mother. Not only do we enjoy seeing the happiness on the face of a student, but on their friend’s and family’s as well. One of the most satisfying parts of this program is we have the chance to empower our peers and show them they can do great things when they apply themselves. When you instill that confidence and joy into someone, it spreads to those around them. Often, we get to hear warming stories from the accounts of loved ones. Ben’s story is just one of many. We thank you for being a part of our program.
Not only have we included a thank you letter, but also attached is a video made by Ben himself. He shows us one of his proud creations!
