Zach has been attending the shop class program, while learning how to sand metal and prepare pieces for painting, he asked Rocky if the techniques he was learning would work for other projects. Confirming that he could defiantly use the skills in other scenarios, Rocky asked if he had something in mind. Zach said that at home, his dad had been working on restoring a bench and that he would like to pick up where his father left off. After discussing the project Zach and Rocky went to go pick up the bench. While they worked on stripping the metal, Zach mentioned the the bench was very important because it is believed to be the very bench his dad had proposed to his mom. Zach learned how to sand wood, strip metal and prepare the bench for painting. By the end of the day the bench was restored and beautiful. Zach took great pride in giving the finished bench back to his mom to enjoy siting and enjoying the fond memories her and her husband shared.
